The problem is that the federal government, and many corporations, profit tremendously from the illegal aliens. If they're working with fake SSNs, the government is collecting money that they will never be able to get back, but that money isn't going to the states to pay for mandated programs like education. The corporations need workers that have no recourse if they are abused. Obama's proposals will go a long way to mitigate the problems, but even in eight years he won't be able to fix what the Republicans have done.
