  As it was back then. Read it again. There was a legal framework in
  place to regulate killing in the Roman empire. They had their own
  "slippery slope" however and it was only too easy to sidestep the
  regulations and put an unpopular, vulnerable person to death.
  If you think human nature has changed in the last 2000 years, I
  suggest you open your eyes once in a while.

No I suggest that you let people decide what to do and don't use
religous rhetoric as if you are better than everybody else.  You sort of
person sickens me with your innate belief in good and right, if it
wasn't for people like you the world would be a much better place to
live.
