If there is no cure, I am sorry, but let nature do its thing. We all >face it at some point, some more painfully than others, but you cannot >make it someone else's responsibility or task to kill you. > I wonder if you (and others who think like you who are not very old and in good health) when *you* are on your death-beds, or have some accident and go into a decline as has happened to my friend Fred whom I 'posted' about. Bloody-well use your imaginations, you fools! I once had a very old frail lady ringing me in dispair. She had tried to do the 'bag' method on herself, and had failed. Of course. Even that method needs careful thinking and planning and an ability to manipulate the (admittedly simple) 'apparatus' properly. Yes, people who wish to die rather than drag on horribly to slow inevitable death *need* help. Denying them that help is an act of insult to life - the life that we all know has to end sometime so it might as well end when death is drawing near and the scrap of life we have left is a terrible burden to us. To force us to go on to the bitter end is an insult to life. *It* is morbidity, whereas the reasonable wish to die is a tribute to a life lives as well as we've been able. You say you are sorry. I hesitate to wish it on you but I almost hope that one day you *will* be sorry. Or perhaps you will to your own chagrin bless us who are campaigning for voluntary euthanasia, for what it may do for you when you need it. Brian
