Financial Times Two foreign governments, thought to be France and Italy, supplied Britain with the intelligence for its claim that Saddam Hussein's Iraq had sought uranium from Africa. The Financial Times has learnt from senior Whitehall sources that the information came from two west European countries, and not from now discredited documents that proved to be forgeries. from: http://news.ft.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=FT.com/StoryFT/FullStory&c=StoryFT&cid=1057562362080 -------------------------------------------- Liberals don't want to see a smoking gun, they want to see smoking US cities. -- Ann Coulter --------------------------------------------

The article makes no statement at all on the validity of the intelligence. Just that it came from a source other than US intelligence and that the Brits didn't share it with the US. It's the last part that's interesting. Tony and George always were strange bedfellows. > -------------------------------------------- > Liberals don't want to see a smoking gun, they > want to see smoking US cities. -- Ann Coulter > -------------------------------------------- Yes, I'm sure that some day in the future we'll all be in a concentration camp run by Commandant Coulter.

There's a followup story today that suggests the French may have been doing nothing more than parroting the same bogus intelligence that started with the forged documents from Niger. It's a comic circle: http://famulus.msnbc.com/FamulusIntl/reuters07-14-075208.asp?reg=MIDEAST
