The Aratas Hungarian Dancers present:
A Hungarian Dance Weekend with
Sandor Roman
Portland, Oregon -- September 19 & 20, 1992
Join us for a full weekend of dancing with Sandor Roman and Zsofi Horvath,
from Budapest, Hungary. Sandor and Zsofi will be teaching either the
Bodrogkozi cycle from Zemplen County of north eastern Hungary, or the
Marossarpataki cycle from Szekelyfold in modern day Romania.
(Previous publicity said that the Bodrogkozi would be taught. Sandor
specifically requested the opportunity to present Marossarpataki material,
so he and Zsofi will demonstrate both dances and a vote will be taken at
the first workshop on Saturday morning.)
There will be two three-hour workshops each day with a tanchaz on Saturday
evening. It appears that our plans have worked and there will be a band
made up of musicians from the Portland and Los Angeles areas to play for
almost all dancing (except the workshop material) at the tanchaz.
