Protect Children!: End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and
Trafficking in Children for Sexual Purposes

The first World Congress against the Commercial Sexual
Exploitation of Children was held in Stockholm, Sweden from August 27-30,
1996, representing 119 governments around the world. On August 28, 1996,
the World Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration and Agenda for
Action, urging the need to end child prostitution, child pornography and
trafficking of children for sexual purposes. ... Given the global nature
of child victimization, it is difficult for me to argue that some of these
child victimizers are not in the loose in our communities in the
Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto and across Canada, victimizing
children in Canada and around the far corners of the globe. As a result,
I have requested the Anti-Racism, Access and Equity Committee of the
Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto to urge the Municipality of
Metropolitan Toronto Council to declare its support for the Declaration
and Agenda for Action.
I would appreciate your support. With out a delay, please write to
