Hi...

For all those who have Telebit modems, and understand modems
well in general if it isn't just specific to Telebit...why do I get
such varied transfer rates in one phone call?

I just transferred two files to one of my feeds, both
approx. 85k large, and the first went at about 228bps and the
second went at about 1200cps. Is this normal??

Thanks...

Marc

maybe some garbage developed on the line during the first file
and then cleared up before the second file was transferred?

228 cps is real bad - I've never seen such a poor connection --
are you connecting directly to the machine or though a terminal
server? Maybe the machine was busy batching news or doing a
backup when you transfered the first file?
