Will you get off it? Jokes are *not* automatically demeaning and degrading.
Perhaps you use them this way, but that does not automatically mean that
your view of the world is the only one. Most people use joking as a way to
come to terms with situations or events that they have trouble dealing 
with. Humour is a healing activity for normal people. I think you are
projecting *your* usage of humour, and *your* view of things, onto the
rest of the world. Learn to expand your view.
