To whom it may concern:

The IP (Information Provider) priveleges of the Islam menu on the TFN has 
been cut. Unfortunately this coincides with:

- The start of Ramadan, the holy month for Muslims.
- The ejection of the IP from the Board of directors of the TFN.

These factors add a very inflammatory angle to what is going on. I know 
that in an electronic motion, the board has agreed that this has nothing 
to do with the ejection of the board member and that the IP privileges 
should be re-instated. A deadline was even suggested - last Monday - for 
this re-activation.

The question now is who and why they have not been re-instated? The IP is 
bound by a special agreement and all matters related to IPs are governed 
by the Information Resources Committee, which did not receive any new 
complaints against the IP. The fact that the IP has used his privileges 
to supply e-mail to fax and other services to the TFN users, have been 
dealt with appropriately at the last meeting of the out-going Board 
in November and the following IRC meeting, the results of which were that 
the menu was restored back to original and that the services were added 
to the post office/mail menu.

If any new issues arise, they can promptly be dealt with by the current 
IRC or the current board. It looks now that this is a 'revenge' not just 
against a board member. Would the current board take the right action to 
correct the situation before it expands uncontrolled? 

The problem exactly is that the option 11 at the main menu (that allows 
IPs to edit) is not available, nor is the un-restricted disk space, though 
the privileged access is there. 

If this is a personal problem, I would like to assure the powers that be, 
that I am currently looking for an Islamic organization to take over the 
menu. I cannot do that with the IP priveleges restricted.

May common sense prevail.
