Yes they are if they are insulting to certain people. years ago it was racist jokes. Now it's blonde jokes. All these kind of so-called jokes are simply not funny to me - I don't get any laughs out of perpetuating stupid stereotypes about people or insulting them because of gender, race, religion etc. >You get off it! I did not say that jokes are >automatically >demaning and degrading. I said the jokes Gordon posted and >particpated in with others were demeaning and degrading to >women, including a dead Nun, >soon to be Saint. It is not right to make fun of of the dead unless they were Hitler types. It isn't right to make fun of people such as Mother Teresa who did nothing but work to make the world a better place. >And any jokes >that make light of rape, make rape a joke are demeaning and >degrading! I agree! Rape is *not* a laughing matter, it is a serious crime. The rape victims certainly don't deserve to be joked about, but I must admit I would get a big laugh at seeing a rapist run for his life with a grizzly bear in persuit. That would give the rapist something else to think about other than forcing sex and violence on innocent people. It might also put a little fear of the Creator into him/her, something he/she is all too willing to do to his/her victims. > >> Perhaps you use them this way, but that does not automatically mean that >> your view of the world is the only one. Learn to realize that just because you like offensive jokes doesn't mean everyone who objects to them is without a sense of humor. Yes, jokes are a way of dealing with life but people can do that without slamming others. > >See above and **** OFF! Men demeaning and degrading women with humor >is not a healing activity. > I agree, it isn't. There are some things which are so horrible that even the mentioning of them can generate an automatic reaction of revultion. Rape is one of those things. Anything that could lead to rape is another, and that includes chauvinism and racism. They are just not funny, they are sick. > > Chen, go jerk off in earl's garbage can.
