Well, first of all there is a winner to the riddle, who actually pointed
out to me that there was no riddle at all. It is a silly typo on my
part. The winner is Marc Bissonett, Traesurer and TFN Board member.
I wish to apologize for that silly mistake, and I wish to also to point
out the following facts:
- That I am personally happy to see that my fear had no grounds.
- That it was an honest mistake, which can be actually seen from my
original posting that I have searched for the group GO5-ORG instead of
TO5-ORG (look at the original posting and the keyboard to verify that).
If I have meant this as fabrication of the truth, I would not have
published the original post as is (copy showing where I went wrong
follows).
- I do trust that the TFN board can and will take care of TFN business
and save it if possible (which needs active membership support and
actions on the municipal and federal levels of the government, more
goodwill from the business community, and more openness of governorance
to involve the TFN members in the day-to-day activities and problems of
the TFN.
- I wish to express my best wishes to Ed Carriere for whatever he plans
to do. He has done a very good job in collecting links that are of
interest to the Toronto Community. I hope that he will have no problem
in making TFN incorporate his links to the TFN menu and hopefully in the
future to the TFN new GUI. Of course he should be credited for that as
usual. I now understand that it was not Ed Carrier who was making
trouble to me, he did understand issues that I do not. In fact, in all
this at least I can say is that Ed Carrier showed the traits of an
excellent personality with a consistency and values that I wish to see
in all working for TFN. He also handled the whole issue of the conflict
diplomatically (a trait that I obviously lack) and professionally. I
have no doubt in mind that he understands my point of view and that I
could not possibly accept the responsibility of running an office when I
do not know/understand why and who are the people that enjoy almost
total control over the system that I am supposed to conduct the TFN
day-to-day business on. He may know why, I do not.
Obviously most of TFN business runs on trust, I did not have that trust,
the problem from my point of view is that there was nothing 'against' me
except 'perceptions' from people, may be based on the fact that I am on
welfare or other 'minority' issues. Moreover, I do not consider
'trust' as a way to conduct 'business'. That does not mean I begin with
mistrust, but actually as a measure for protecting what is obviously
'public property' that I am double-responsible for it, as the office
manager and as a board member. The problem with trust is that it takes
long to build, and no body is sure what can happen to oneself tomorrow,
so recording is essential.
Finally, I shall cease all my postings regarding the TFN board. I am
happy that I am off the hook, there are many positive ideas to pursue
that any one can follow, that these ideas could have been pursued
through the TFN, e.g. multiligual sites for all, does not mean it cannot
be pursued through community organizations, e.g. the Canadian Arab
Federation for Arabic-speaking community. I hope it is still possible
that TFN can act as the umberella for all ethnic/languistic communities,
as its mandate is (well, remeber the question about what language you
prefer to use when you first filled the on-line application?). This
development needs TFN to adopt at least newer versions of software it
already has (even for just text-browsers), or moving on to PPP, which
though to my knowledge is currently HW-wise possible, but may need at
least having faster modems to economically use the time allocation for
the users. Any way, what the board will decide to do is up to the board
(which I no longer consider myself part of though I could have forced
myself on the board as I am an elected person, and that the motion did
not 'carry' as postulated in the motion that was proposed _only_ in the
last AGM that even, according to legal advice, is not 'constitutional'.
I have no time to pursue this issue - I am not a negative-oriented
person - though it is worthy of pursual, but the negative consequences
on TFN is NOT something that I personally find amusing.
Sincerely,
Nabil M. El-Khodari

You are very well practiced in the art of manipulation of other people, facts and public perception to achieve your own goals. I shall remember what you have taught me about yourself. : Finally, I shall cease all my postings regarding the TFN board. Can WE ALL hold you to your word on this one? --

Moreover, I do not consider I remember a posting between you and me last year that you stated something along the lines of "you are too good for working at a fast-food joint", ok I was really mad about this and was going to respond but decided not to because your attitude is not worth my time. Thanks to those people that work at McDonalds or Burger King that keep their head up even though it's a shitty job (You are better off than welfare, you got pride). Anyways my 'perception' of you was pretty negative, dunno what you woulda done in my shoes.
