I was in McLean Va this week, so for supper Tuesday I went to "Clyde's" on the Leesburg Pike just west of Tyson's Corner. Some of the interior appeared in a movie(I forget which). It was certainly lavishly enough appointed: They had a crystal mint bowl, gold-plated men's room faucets and urinal handles, and twenty-foot tall potted palms in the dining room. They seated me in the relatively small non-smoking dining room. They were Southern enough to serve iced team, but not enough to serve it pre-sweetened. . They quickly brought the cup of hot water I requested to make saturated sugar solution. My rare hamburger arrived on a Kaiser bun. It was hot, juicy, and rare. It tasted charcoal-broiled; it was over an inch thick(without the bin). I enjoyed it so much I skipped dessert. In NC this delightful meal would be criminal. Isn't that just silly? Gregor
