I would recommend Katz's on Houston street in NYC. Hard to beat the atmosphere and the food, If you feel like tracking down a deli, I once went to a delicatessen in the Garment District. It was on 23rd and 7th Avenue, North West Corner, 2nd floor. I don't its name but the food was good and the atmosphere authentic. Whatever that means. steve

Have you ever watched PBS when they show clips of authentic restaraunts with little booths serving home cooked meals, milk shakes, ice cream cones etc.? That is what you find at the Village Dairy. These are perfectly typical of what you would expect to find in Pittsburgh. Also, as any Pittsburgher knows, you can only get the real *Chipped Ham* in Pittsburgh. With all due respect to the formal Isaly's, I have never had a better Chipped Ham. Bob
