Do i have local triangle internet folks out there interested in
bottle collecting as a hobby?? i've spent over 5 years now learning
how to repair bottles + i have many bottles to sell out of my
collection.. i DO NOT sell repaired bottles without telling the
buyer of ANY repairs i've done..i do excellent work & stand behind
what i do..presently i have several nice scarce embossed pepsi's
& cokes..i live between Raleigh & Louisburg....i'd meet interested
folks at Hardees in Rolesville......my main concern right now is
to gather interested folks' e-mail addresses and info on what their
interests are..... i hope to provide some photos in a week or so..

thx............

Do you know some history about various local bottles? I've found lots
of interesting stuff on my land, from arrowheads, through salt-glazed
shards, to 30's patterns, to several bottles.

Know anything about this one? It is very heavy glass (14 oz. on my
kitchen scale). Info is painted on the glass. Label is partly
obliterated but says:
"Drink to ........hear......."
ZIMBA
Kola Drink
First for Thirst

On the back it says:
contains carbonated water, pure cane sugar, extract of kola nuts, pure
fruit, essential oils and acidulent, caramel color added.
Bottled by Associated Distributors, Inc.
Sanford, NC (no zip code)
contents 7 fl oz.

Yum.... bet you get a cocaine buzz from that one!!! ha ha

There were no Zip Codes in the 1940s.

We stole the technology from the Germans after the war.

Thanks. Not too much info, though. But interesting they say Zimba
was produced 1941-47. However, they list some beverages that are
still being produced as ending in the '50's, '60's. So how reliable
is that?
Anyway, I was "there" when zipcodes came into being. I'd mentioned no
zip code as a way of noting this bottle was, indeed, old.
I wonder if one can still get Davino wines (super sweet, hand-blown
bottles, from Denmark... strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and it swirled
with sweetness. No two bottles were quite the same color or shape.
Got it in Buffalo late '50's.) Also, Sanson Malaga from Spain. Yum.
Think I'll do a search on those.
