Need discussion: possible use for FREENET?

I have a question/suggestion for the Freenet crowd: The Triangle
Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies (TCESS) and the
local section of the IEEE are working together to put a voice info
system and BBS "on the air" in the park for getting out info on meetings
for the 25+ societies in TCESS. It seems like the BBS function would
be best served if it could be merged with Freenet for a number of reasons:
1) The IEEE part of the "BBS" needs Internet connect for news feeds from
IEEE HQ as well as email to/from HQ people

2) The Freenet system could possibly benefit from the added effort of
the TCESS and IEEE members to keep the system going

3) A combined effort would eliminate competition for resources from
local companies in order to support two efforts

Please note that the voice system would definitely be a separate entity
in a different location, etc. We would only be combining the data
communications capability.

Any interest or discussion?
