A friend who left this area has given me a plant. I think she called it a Fishtail (Fern, Palm?). It is about 3 feet high. The stem near the base is thick and woody. It has about 3 or 4 stems with leaves that do look like fishtails. It is still in the temporary planter in which it was purchased (I think this last spring). Can anyone tell me about this plant, and what I should do to keep it alive? It looks like it could turn into a rather nice large houseplant. It has a new branch forming, so I think it has possibilities. Should I re-pot it now or wait until spring? Dean File UNC School of Medicine
