It's hell being a night person whose grad student office and academic department had no snack machines worth the name; I couldn't keep food around at my department because it would simply disappear. So when I was up at 3:00 in the morning typing away at the computer in the hallway, and the 7-11 was *right across the street*, it's no wonder that I succumbed most nights and went over and got something to eat. If there had been a 24-hour McDonald's across the street, I would have eaten a lot of Big Macs.
