When it worked, it worked like a champ. But "WHEN" is the key word here. I had nightly problems with my connection. The lights would flash from green to red constantly. When I would pick up my telephone I could hear interference on the line that would come and go. Then it would be fine after about 10:00PM. This was like clock work EVERY NIGHT. So much so that I could set my watch by it. I spoke with a tech this past Saturday night and he wanted to relocate my splitter box into another room, rewire the apartment, do this, try that... Since it was occuring at a regular interval, we finally suspected the interference was coming from a neighbors apartment and went away when they went to bed at night and turned off the offending culprit. I ended up canceling the service for obvious reasons. > I'm about ready to go to the state PUC. If you do, let me know and I'll go with you! They want to come and pick up their (my) equiptment after I canceled, but also want to continue charging me $30 per month until my contract is up in December because there is no "30 day guarantee". Guess what? That dog doesn't hunt! They have no business charging for a service that doesn't work, and the only way to find out if it WILL work is to set it up. The tech I spoke with on the phone even said that there were potential problems with ADSL in an apartment building and especially an older one with older wiring. I was told that my line "qualifies for ADSL", which led me to believe that everything was A-OK with them. If there were potential problems that remained unseen, the installer should have brought them to my attention. Patrick Burns Webmaster of X-STATIC!!!
