o This Wednesday, October 7, Eric Fredericksen will give a presentation on
  biological and ecological determination of motion perception.  He will
  present some of his work on human motion perception, how it corresponds
  to visual neurophysiology and neuroanatomy, and how a motion perception
  system might self-organize given visual motion information during
  development.  Two papers are suggested as background reading: "The
  Perception of Motion," by Sekuler, Anstis, Braddick, Brandt, Movshon,
  and Orban, and "The Development of Vision and Visual Perception," by
  Van Sluyters, Atkinson, Banks, Held, Hoffman, and Shatz.

o We meet in Sitterson Hall, conference area 284, at noon on Wednesdays.
  All are invited; bring your lunch.  If you are not on the TANNS e-mail
  list but would like to be (or vice versa), please let me know.
