o This Wednesday, October 14, Valentin Dragoi will give a presentation on
  the 1992 paper "Neuronal Networks With Spontaneous, Correlated Bursting
  Activity: Theory and Simulations," by Kowalski, Albert, Rhoades, and
  Gross.  The paper proposes a model of spontaneously active biological
  neural networks, each neuron being an excitable dynamical unit of the
  Hodgkin-Huxley type.  Networks of this type exhibit rich dynamics,
  including synchronized chaotic activity.  The simulation results will
  be discussed.

o We meet in Sitterson Hall, conference area 284, at noon on Wednesdays.
  All are invited; bring your lunch.  If you are not on the TANNS e-mail
  list but would like to be (or vice versa), please let me know.
