Agenda:
  9:00 to 9:15 - Registration

9:30 to 10:30 - Janet Dunham on Software Quality Metrics case study
  10:30 to 11:30 - Discussion

The Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. aerospace industry have
established guidelines for the development of flight-critical commercial
software. These guidelines, referred to as the DO-178 series, are
developed through a consensus building process under the auspices of the
Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics. They represent aerospace
industry standard practice and are used by the FAA during aircraft
certification.

Under the sponsorship of NASA and the FAA, the Research Triangle
Institute defined and implemented a study to assess the effectiveness
of these guidelines. The study involved developing a real-time guidance
and control software application and collecting software quality data
throughout the development process. The talk will discuss the methods
used during development and the quality data collected. Actual failure
data from each life cycle phase will be presented.

We have a seating limitation of 43 so please register by calling Sue
or sending email.

Hope to see you all there. Please call if you have any questions.
Please pass a copy of this letter to quality conscious colleagues.
