DECUS RTP LUG JANUARY MEETING Wednesday, January 20, 1993 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Digital Equipment Corporation Offices Creekstone Office Park, RTP, NC Exit 282 from I-40 (919) 941 4000 Q & A panel discussion: Alpha Migration from VAX. The Alphas are coming, the Alphas are coming. Now what? Is VMS really VMS? What did it take to port a major software product to Alpha? For answers to these, and many more questions you might have--don't miss this LUG meeting. We have put together a special panel of "Alpha experts" to help answer these questions. On hand will be two developers from SAS Institute Inc., who tell all about just how easy [or hard] it really was to port 6 million lines of C code from a VAX to an AXP system. In addition, others will be on hand to answer questions about system management and performance issues (related to the AXP space.) Don't miss this opportunity to find out what these AXP systems are all about, and don't forget to bring your questions for the panel. Additionally, we will have a AXP system on hand for you to play with! See you in two weeks.
