Modem adapter for private telephone exchange

Can anybody help me?
I have a notebook computer and I would like to connecet the built in modem
to a private telephone exchange.
Unfortunately the telephone exchange is of some digital type, it is not
possible to connect the modem directly to the line.

I would like to connect the modem to the socket for the cable to the
handset and then operate the modem at 2400 or 4800 baud.

does anyone have such a circuit diagramm or knows where to buy such an
adapter?
Thanks

 Rene

Has any one heard of a program called Iphone, essentially it allows your
computer to use the Internet as a L/D carrier while using only the local
access phone number or your Internet provider, uses the Sound board to
provide voice reception and transmission. I had heard that it could be
found on the Internet, but being a newbie I have yet to find it.

I recently purchased the "Inside Line " adapter by Radish Inc, from
PC Connection. It sell for about $110. I think Konnex also has a similar
interface for about $130 although I am no sure where to get it. The
adpater works fine, I routinely use it to connect to my office PBX system
at 14.4K. Hope this helps. BTW PC Connection's # ids 800-800-5555.

ftp to ftp.monash and login as anonymous.
You can find it in the internet directory, but don't bother if you have
anything lower than a 486DX66 with 8Mb RAM.

Daniel,

I am interested to know if the adapter is functional on a multiline
phone, i.e. I have a multi-line set at my client's site, and I would
like to use the modem as well as use the phone at the same time.

in coming soon, a new product called "digital phone" is available. This is a
real phone thro' internet. This means you can talk and hear at the same time.

I would be interested in finding out more about
this "digital phone." If you have a program
name, and whether it requires a special phone
or not, would be helpful. It would seem that
if it is using digital information that it
would require a digital phone. Please get back.
