MS-VFAT does not support file permissions etc...

You can mount a partition ``suid'' if you want to give permissions to
anyone who mounts the drive.

Here is my fstab:

# device mount-dir fs-type options fs-freq fs-pass
# user,exec,dev,suid
#--------------+----------+--------+-----------------------+--------+-------

/dev/hdb1 / ext2 defaults 1 1
/dev/hdb4 /hdb4 ext2 user,noauto,ro 1 2
/dev/hda4 /hda4 ext2 defaults 1 3

/dev/hda1 /dosc vfat user,noauto,rw,suid
/dev/hda2 /dosd vfat user,noauto,rw,suid

none /proc proc defaults 0 0

/dev/hda3 none swap sw 0 0

/dev/fd0 /fd0 ext2 user,noauto 0 0
/dev/fd0 /dosa vfat user,noauto 0 0

/dev/hdc /cdrom auto user,noauto,ro,exec 0 0

#--------------+----------+--------+-----------------------+--------+-------

any user can simply mount by:
    mount /dosc

Note that I can mount the floppy as a DOS floppy by:
    mount /dosa
and as a ext2 (Linux) floppy by:
    mount /fd0

All this is covered in the manpage for ``fstab''.

I use a test editor to change ``fstab''.
Challenge: Try doing this with the Redhat tools. Is that possible? Anyone?
