Why? IE4 is better than Netscape. Nevertheless- If you want to remove IE4, you can do so by trashing the folder inside Internet Applications that says Internet Explorer 4.01 folder and also Outlook Express. Then delete the MS Preference Panels in the System folder and you can also delete the files Intel Raw Video and Indeo video in the Extensions folder, and delete the folders MS Internet Cache and Explorer from the Preferences folder. If you want to delete IE4 in Windows98, you can do that too very easily! Just bring up the Add/Remove Programs, and then Remove Internet Explorer!! If you have Windows95 it is difficult-- if you have IE3, you can remove it by installing IE4 over it, then use IE4's wizard to uninstall itself :-) That will keep Windows "MSIE-free". Turn off Java. It's the main cause of instability in any of the browsers. In article <3674C056.55EC0C1@ems.rmit.edu.au>, e04588 <"e04588(no spam)"@ems.rmit.edu.au> wrote: > Jason wrote: > > > Why? IE4 is better than Netscape. > > That is if being slower, and unstable is better of course!

Hi Just as Jason said, but I think there are some MS fonts to be removed as well. I don't care if IE4 is better than Netscape the fact that it's Microsoft is enough reason to trash it. Paul BallBall@iMac wrote: > Dear all, > How can i complete remove ie4 from my iMac? > thx

It's actually a lot simpler than that. Just pop your Mac OS CD into the CDROM drive, and double click the installer. After answering the introductory questions (by hitting return a few times) click on the 'customize' button. Then simply select the Internet options, and select 'custom remove' from the pull down menu. You can then select specific components to remove. This method avoids having to chase down all the system files littered throughout your directory structure. > If you want to delete IE4 in Windows98, you can do that too very easily! > Just bring up the Add/Remove Programs, and then Remove Internet Explorer!! What I've said above is the Mac equivalent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Webster. I've temporarily lost my .sig
