Hello everyone,

i have been assigned a task to design a VB applic in which the master
database would reside on a WinNT Server and multiple applications would
access that database from Win98 stations for read/write access.

The database for now is Access; (but we would upgrade to MsSQL in a few
months).

I would like to know:
1. What technology/prog model to use so
   that multiple applications can
   open/modify same database at same
   time without any conflicts (no clue how it works !!)
2. Also pls name the topics that i need
   to read/understand (any book names would
   be great) to write this kind of program.

The only object model i've worked in is DAO.

Please put me in the right direction. I would really appreciate any
help. thank you in advance
