Question: Going purely on memory from my school days, I had thought that one feature of the photoelectric effect that could not be explained by classical EM + quantized matter was that no matter how dim a beam of light was illuminating the surface, the photoelectrons appear immediately. Easy to explain with photons; how is it explained with the classical EM + quantized matter explanation ? regards, -arun gupta
