Grossly, they are grayish and mucoid. Representative sections are taken. Microscopically, the section of peritoneum shows a picture of pseudomyoma peritonei, manifested as conspicuous extracellular mucus pooling with a few mucin-producing atypical epithelial chains and glands. -------------------------------------------------page2---------------------- ------------------------------------------- Liver, biopsy,no evidence of involvement by pseudomyxoma peritonei. The specimen submitted consists of one tissue fragment measuring 0.8 x 0.6 x 0.3 cm. in size, fixed in formalin. Grossly, it is brownish and firm. All for section. Microscopically, the section of liver biopsy shows focal surface fibrous adhesion, and no evidence of involvement by pseudomyxoma peritonei is found. -------------------------------------------------page3---------------------- ------------------------------------------- Soft tissue, colon, lararotomy and biopsy, pseudomyxoma peritonei, recurrent. The specimen submitted consists of one tissue fragment measuring 1.1 x 0.9 x 0.6 cm. in size, fixed in formalin. Grossly,it is grayish and mucoid. All for section. Microscopically, the section reveals a picture of pseudomyxoma peritonei with histologic features identical to CGH95-13532. -------------------------------------------------page4---------------------- ------------------------------------------- Omentum, laparotomy and bicpsy, pseudomyxoma peritonei, recurrent. The specimen submitted consists of one tissue fragment measuring 2.1 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm. in size, fixed in formalin. Grossly,it is grayish and mucoid. All for section. Microscopically, the section of omental biopsy shows a picture of pseudomyxoma peritonei with a few mucin-producing atypical epithelial chains, glands and dissociated signet-ring cells floating in a sea of mucus pooling. End.
