We manage a few rental properties and there may be some new state requirements wrt this subject. The legal issues are confusing still, but our lawyer is recommending that we provide both a keyed deadbolt (both sides require a key) and a keyless deadbolt (turn knob only on the inside) on all properties. The keyed deadbolt is to prevent someone breaking a nearby window and gaining access while the keyless deadbolt is to prevent unauthorized access by the manager... And if you might notice, the local hardware stores are running specials on the keyless deadbolts. :^) :^) -- Kent Polk: Southwest Research Institute (will disavow any knowledge of me) Internet : kent@eaenki.nde.swri.edu (DoF #) : Official DoF Squid Motto: "Ride Hard/Crash Gently"
