However, they don't enforce the lease provision about having locks they can't open, so I (and many tenants) have locks they can't open. If they get tough on this rule I may move. >Simply put, my home is my castle. There is nothing illegal, and nothing >even embarrassing in my home. And nobody, but NOBODY, should have to >right to come into my home without my approval or without a valid >search warrant. I agree. Anyway, for those of you convinced everyone who agrees with this really does have something to hide anyway, I have an innocent but good reason I don't want people coming in my apartment when I'm not there: my cats. I care a lot about whether my cats get out. The maintenance guys are pretty nice guys, and I'm sure they'd try not to let them out, but ultimately they don't care as much as I do. Not to mention my cats are frightened by strangers and I'd rather be there when strangers are coming. (No, actually, you see my cats are fake cats, they're actually robot cats I use to keep my illegal substances in. Yeah, that's it.) Anyway, I knew all this before I signed the lease. I don't like it, but there are lots of things I don't like about my apartment that I accepted for various reasons.
