I have for sale a Henry 2KD-5 amateur radio linear amplifier for sale.
It is presently operational and I'll be glad to do an "on the air"
demonstration for you. This amplifier was used for packet radio
unattended BBS service for several years at the 500 watt level and I had
removed the bottom cover as a probably un-needed safety precaution to
allow improved air circulation. Unfortunately during home remodeling I
have managed to misplace both the bottom cover and the owners manual.
This does not effect the operation of the amplifier in any way but I
believe you should understand why the price is lower than normal for an
amplifier of this class. It is presently wired for 220-VAC but it can be
rewired for 120-VAC however due to the current requirements at full
power this is not recommended.

The amplifier is fully operational, including the approved modification
to include the 10 meter band. It has the large roller inductor in the
tank circuit rather than the tapped coil that many of the "less
expensive" amplifiers use so it will probably work on the new WARC bands
but I have not tried it there as I normally just use the exciter for
casual conversations. To quote Henry Radio "The 2KD-5 will work just
fine on MARS frequencies, just switch to the closest band and tune the
amplifier on the required frequency. That model has a broad tuning
range because of the design which uses a variable inductor as the TUNE
control."

Cosmetically I would rate it as 6.5 to 7 on a range of 1 to 10, no
serious scratches, dents, etc. but only the normal effects of usage.
I'll be glad to email some pictures if requested, or talk to you on the
air using this amp.

Due to the large size and weight I will NOT ship this amp so the sale is
pickup only, or I may meet you halfway depending on the distance. These
amps are selling on eBay for $800 to $1,200 so this is a chance for you
to grab a bargain for only $650.00 Please respond via email as I do not
read the newsgroups on a regular basis.
