I bought from original owner in 1974. Fair condition, not great. Come
pick it up and it is yours (Spring, TX). Or pay me shipping to send
it to you. E-mail for details or if you have any questions.

Sorry about the typo in the orignal posting. this is a tall frame for
a tall person. 27x1/25 inch tires/wheels. GrandPrix model.

Hi -

99% of the time when somebody is discussing a 27" frame they have looked at
the wheels and seen 27" on them. 27" frames are pretty rare beasts.
(Target and KMart ads are the most notorious abusers of this statistic.)

In case you don't already know, the frame size is measured along the seat
tube, which is the tube the seat post goes into. The frame measurement is
taken from the center of the crank axles (the pedal arms) up the seat tube
to the top (some people use the center) of the top tube. The top tube is
what a guy pays attention to when he is getting on/off the seat (so he
doesn't hurt himself - if ya know what I mean).

If this is truly a 27" frame I would probably make a trip up there to fetch
it. I'm not exactly sure what I would do with it since I really have all
the bikes I need. But since I am 6'6" I do know about tall bikes and do
have some tall friends who might want to fix up a bike and ride it. The
'unfortunate' thing about bikes this old is that these steenk'n bike
manufacturers have made so many changes to the dimensions of rear clusters,
chains, and deraileurs that these old bikes can be tricky to get parts for.
It gets even worse because these changes have weakened the rear wheels which
is particularly unfortunate for 'big' folks who can put more strain on their
rear wheels.

Anyway, I'd hate to see this big frame go to waste and wouldn't mind
'warehousing' if for somebody else who is tall and *really* needs a tall
frame.

Thanks.
