I can understand the original poster's frustration, however. His phone line
is, after all, a private one. He had it installed (I presume) for his use, and
for those acquaintances of his who have his permission, to use. No one else's.

Having a phone is not an open invitation to anyone who wants to call. Calling
someone without their permission (this can be explicit or implicit) is, to me,
rude.

Besides, I felt like his post was fairly tongue-in-cheek.
