Well, Deb, it's strange you should mention that...

As I read the "scoring rules" I had a similar thought.  These poor folks are
working at/near minimum wage;  they aren't asking for handouts, and they may
be trying to work their way through school or buy a few extra thingys for
little Junior.   I usually tell them politely, very quickly, that I'm not
interested in wasting their or my own time.


course, every now and then, I get a real "smart" one.   Let's see, where were
those rules, again?  :-)

No, it normally pays to treat people like you'd want to be treated, should you
ever find yourself in that situation.  Sounds like you've some experience in
the field, and so have I.

make them pay a little for the privilege of having me around.
