John's quite correct. It was outrageous that Clinton considers that
Chelsea would not receive an adequate education in public schools.

Fortunately, I'd pit Purple Sage (Round Rock ISD) against Chelsea's
new fancy Quaker school any day of the week.

Perhaps Clinton was worried about security? But then again, aren't we all?

I too support vouchers. I just got my bill for RRISD - and its a
whopper. While I might bitch and moan about paying it (and hey,
what gives RRISD the right to tax my leased CAR, fer crissake?!),
at least my kid's school is good (with an award winning Principal,
Terri Hunt, as well :-) But if I could have more CHOICE, the PRICE
might drop and education might be even BETTER. And hell yes, inner-city
black majority private schools are viable - Marva Collins in Chicago
PROVED that.

STATE INCOME TAX? This will NOT solve the tax burden problem,
it will NOT result in better education for poorer districts (but
WILL result in increased spending, which has NO correlation to
education success). And will property taxes drop? NOT A CHANCE!

The ONLY answer is increased competition that forces the education
bureaucrats BACK into classrooms and radically CUTS waste and
mismanagement in school districts.
