Duh! Get your dictionary out again sonny. The study of bugs is entomology.
Etymology is the branch of lynguistics which deals with the origin and
development of words. If you get a big boys dictionary (which includes
etymology), you will find out that you are completely missing the boat.
Regardless, I explained myself in excruciating detail so there would be no
misunderstanding and you now pick nits (and you aren't even any good at it.)

Mine says: "L. ignorare, see ignore." also (and that's just a cheap
dictionary).

Hey, what goes around, ....

Based on your anecdotal evidence? It was strictly my opinion. I
was hypothesizing in response to the question about how anyplace
could attract a high percentage of poor drivers. It was never intended
to be a case study.

This is why I chose the word ignorant. It is more a statement
of their attitude than their 'mental capacity'. If I wished to
make a statement regarding their 'mental capacity', I would have
called them stupid. You CAN make accurate judgements on people's
ignorance by watching their behavior.

Again, I NEVER said any different. I just opined that there is
an excess of ignorant people driving the local streets.

That goes both ways. I sometimes get a little huffy when people get a
little snitty with me.
