[followups redirected] This newsgroup is dead! It is defunct! It is an ex-newsgroup!!! This morning, control messages were issued from sites in Austin and DFW to create the following new newsgroups: tx.usenet.config (replaces tx.news) austin.usenet.config (replaces austin.news) dfw.usenet.config (replaces dfw.news) tx.usenet.stats (replaces tx.news.stats) austin.usenet.stats (replaces austin.news.stats) dfw.usenet.stats (replaces dfw.news.stats) This renaming has been the topic of discussion for several weeks, and was supported by strong consensus. Effective immediately, all *.news discussion should be redirected to *.usenet.config, and *.news.stats postings to *.usenet.stats. The old newsgroups (*.news and *.news.stats) will be deleted in about two weeks time. If your site does not have the new *.usenet.config and *.usenet.stats groups, the control messages to create them should arrive shortly. If you do not get them within a day or two, you might want to gently nudge your local newsadmin to create them manually. For additional information, see the message entitled "Welcome to the Texas Usenet" just posted to the *.usenet.config groups mentioned above. -- Chip Rosenthal 512-447-0577 | I figure the odds be fifty-fifty Unicom Systems Development | I just might have some thing to say. <chip@chinacat.Unicom.COM> | -FZ
