Hello There,

I plan on being gainfully unemployed starting september. Before
embarking upon future employment, I intend to indulge in some
serious bumming around the western part of the continent. The idea
is to drive from Austin to San Diego to Vancouver and back, with
stopovers in interesting locations. A tentative list includes:

El Paso
Albuquerque
Santa Fe
Phoenix
Grand Canyon
Las Vegas
San Diego / Tijuana
San Francisco (3-4 days)
Redwood Forest
Portland
Seattle
Vancouver (3-4 days)

Drive back to Austin with nightly stopovers on the road.

Approximate date of departure is 15 September. Return in about 4+-
weeks. BUT everything is flexible and negotiable. September/October
is a good time to travel by road because the weather will still be
reasonably nice, and the summer rush will be over.

Looking for someone to share the driving, split the gas and motel
costs, enjoy good coffee and conversation, ...

If you're located in the DFW/houston/san antonio metropolitan areas,
I can always pick you up. If you're looking for a one way drop off,
that's fine too.

This will be a great and economical way of seeing a fair number of
places. I'll be glad to provide you with more information. Passing
this information onto to friends whom you think might be interested
but don't have access to internet will be greatly appreciated. Even
if you can't make the trip but have suggestions regarding itinerary
and time table, I'll be glad to hear from you.
