I am a little hesitant to post this, but my girlfriend nagged me to no
end last night on the phone to do so, so here goes.

She relayed to me that there is a terminally ill child that
is working through the Childrens' Wish Foundation to set
a world record for "Best Wishes" cards received.

He Needs 1 Million by Aug 15th. (yes in a few days, so if you can, send
one in now)

here is the info she asked me to post:

Craig Shirgold
Age 7

Send cards to:
c/o Childrens Wisch Foundation
 32 Perimeter Center East
 Atlanta, GA.
 30346

My girlfreind is responsible for any address problems or lack of information.

thanks

This hoax is as old as the hills (or at least as old as the net). I'm surprised
at your girlfriend.

CRAIG SHIRGOLD DOES NOT NEED POSTCARDS.

This thing has been around the net more times than I can tell you.

Be well, Hadass

WHOA! This is an urban legend, various flavors of which have been celebrated
for years. Yes, there is a Craig Shergold. Yes, he got his cards. He's an
adult now, and has recovered completely. See the alt.urban.legends newsgroup
for further info.

This legend made the rounds on the HELP-NET and INFO-VAX mailing lists a few
months ago, some folks even posted the Craig Shergold FAQ. Yes, this is so
prolific that there is actually a FAQ for it. I didn't save it, but I'll
go look for it...

PS, If you are asked to circulate info about a "virus" that infects your
system when you read your email, that's bogus too...

I admire your sentiment in wanting to help, but this thing is perpetuated
by folks who like to see us all waste time and bandwidth.

Never cook and net at the same time. You'll either burn dinner or
post smoething you've forgotten to spellcheck and proper grammar.

I think that this is not a good idea. I have heard of this request
often with the name of the child and the type of card to be sent. I
believe that this was a true situation several years ago and the little
boy did make the record and has sinced passed away. The problem is,
however, is that the requests kept circulating.

Please check with The Children's Make-A-Wish Foundation before sending
anything so that they don't get inundated with extra mail.

You should have remained hesitant. This is an ancient message. The
young man in question is no longer 7 years old, but in his teens. He got
his wish (along with his health) a decade or so ago.
