Sometimes, the wait can stretch out for upwards of 2 hours.... usually
for some unexplained reason... A couple of summers ago, it seemed
like one of the afternoon 403's disappeared from service. When you're
talking about a frequency of 1 an hour, a missing bus translates to a
2 hour wait (assuming I just missed one). What's annoying is when
the missing bus shows up... right in front of the next one. Or even
worse, the 90 minute transfer you're given expires after only a short
trip. As a result, I wound up either paying twice, or walking (after
taking another bus that at least took me to Richmond). Don't get me
wrong now... I don't mind waiting... I didn't mind the 2 hour bus
ride it took for me to go from Richmond (home) to Burnaby (work...
which incidentally was BC Transit at the time). But when you don't
know when the bus is coming, patience can wear thin. I think that BC
Transit should consider implementing is someting similar to OC Transpo
in Ottawa... an automated schedule update. Each stop had a phone
number to call... the call went to an automated system that informed
the caller of when the next bus is to arrive, or if there were any
schedule changes due to traffic or mechanical failure or whatever.
Or is this already in place?
Other than that... BC Transit works fine for me...

Just my 2 cents...

Patrick
