I'm sure there are extra trips designed to serve UBC. These are what reduce the headways to their peak period levels. However, they are NOT timed specifically for class finish times. >>The suburban express routes out of UBC are scheduled for class finish >>times but often leave at 35 minutes past the hour - again making for a >>near 10 minute wait for many passengers. >I'm afraid if you're looking for service waiting for personal >schedules then you're part of the 'must have my car' crowd. If you went out to UBC and waited at Bay 1 for one of the express routes you would find that most riders are there waiting on the platform at 30 after the hour or even earlier, even though their bus doesn't go until 35 or 38 after. On the 31, where alternate service is available on the 9, many riders lose much of the time saved by riding the express in the wait. ------------ Ian Fisher ifisher@unixg.ubc.ca Transport 2000 British Columbia Vancouver, BC, Canada Visit the Transport 2000 BC Web Site: Telephone/Fax: (604)681-3192 http://www.vcn.bc.ca/t2000bc/ Contributions to Vancouver-Seattle daily passenger rail service: Washington State: US$30 million BC Gov't: US$35,000
