Wednesday October 16 is the two-year anniversary of the McLibel trial, and members of UBC's Culture Jammers are celebrating by distributing "What's Wrong with McDonald's?" pamphlets in front of the McDonald's in the UBC village. Culture Jammers opposes the corporatization of campus and also opposes McDonald's specifically for the reasons outlined in the pamphlet and more. It is the same pamphlet which started the McLibel trial, a British civil case in which McDonald's UK is suing two Greenpeace activists for handing out the flyers. The case has brought on great media attention, and effectively McDonald's is the one being put on trial. To learn more about the case, or the evils of Mickey Dee's in general, visit the well-produced web site: McSpotlight, http://www.mcspotlight.org Those wishing to join in the protest are welcomed to show up at McD's UBC at 12:15 PM, help hand out flyers and just make your presence known. (Don't worry, the libel laws aren't so harsh in Canada). Shiraz Dindar UBC Culture Jammer

Damn! I wish you'd told me this earlier!! I could have made an
exception and had a burger at McD's today.

What's wrong with this protest? At lunch time, you can hardly get near the UBC McDonald's; most students know to ignore buffoons like the "culture jammers". : Culture Jammers opposes the corporatization of campus and also opposes : McDonald's specifically for the reasons outlined in the pamphlet and more. I think "corporatization" looks a lot better on a Campus than the various leftist anti-anything-they-don't-control groups. -- (-: ...e-mail will be posted as I see fit... :-) (-: Off the monitor, through the modem... nothing but net. :-)

Don't worry, you aren't alone. Plenty of kids are scared of clowns. There are much better reasons not to eat at McPlastic than the reasons stated in your manifesto. Ryan
