I *really* feel the need to buy a Firewire HD, having not backed up
several gig of iMovie stuff that I did last night. Is there anywhere
apart from Cancom where I can walk in and buy one?

I'm perfectly happy to go to Cancom and buy their Smartdisk Crossfire
which they have in stock, but I don't like the way it looks.

I know. How "Apple-owner" is that.

Any thoughts (on where I might buy an alternative that is)?

Or alternatively, of course, buy an iPod and use that...

Thanks for the tips. Robert Sayle only had big Maxtor drives at more
than I wanted to pay. iPods are in short supply and besides, I don;t
think I would have got away with buying one as a back up solution :-) PC
World again only had big and expensive. I went for the slightly ugly but
reasonably priced Smartdisk which will be hidden under the table!

What are you willing to pay? World of Computers has a Maxtor 120GB unit
for 140.
