Zuni's?

Someone recommended that I make reservations for Zuni's in the city for
my graduation dinner (8-10 people). Only thing, I don't know anything
about it--type of food, $, location, phone number, quality. So before I
go off and make reservations, can anyone provide information?
(Unfortunately, my source has gone to Europe, but she's usually really
good about food recommendations).

terence,

I've only been there once but it was quite memorable. It's
a typical San Francisco, classy-type bar on Market street with
a very unusual shape. It's on an odd corner so the building
comes to a sharp point. I seem to recall that it's a seafood
restaurant crammed upstairs and next to the bar. The food
was quite good and we spent about $200+ for the 5 of us (with
wine). It's kind of dressy but I'm sure you could where
"California casual" and be fine.

I must disagree. I've found the service slow, the atmosphere snobby and
the menu too limited.

Zuni is a oyster bar. My father took me there a few years ago for my 21st
birthday. Had a bottle of wine and a few plates of blue points, about $35
per person, maybe a little more. Not bad. The oysters were excellent, and
came with this terrific lemon dill cocktail sauce. they also have cooked
oysters and smoked and stuff like that, but they're not as good as the raw
ones.

free your mind and your ass will follow,
