Recently someone mentioned a 'contractor cap' as well that will prevent us from opening up any new slots in contractor org charts. Compare this to a local (Mountain View) company, Acuson, who had a layoff recently (something like 1 in 7) and was advertising in newspapers a month later for jobs that had been created. IBM might have had huge layoffs, but are they hiring new people? NASA hasn't had massive layoffs, but there are no new hires. Not speaking for NASA, CSC, or anyone else. -- jet@netcom.com -- J.
