It's getting to be that time of year when students pack their bags
and flee the awful mess that Finals are, but before that, the U.C.
Berkeley University Symphony is blowing out their semester in style:

(not necessarily in this order)

Mendelssohn:  Overture to 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'
R. Strauss:  Death and Transfiguration
Takemitsu: A Flock Descends upon the Pentagonal Garden
Stravinsky: The Firebird

Our conductor, Michael Senturia, has been running us ragged, so it
would be a shame to play for a less-than-packed audience (hint, hint)
moreso because it's going to be pretty good.  

It will run for two nights, November 30th and December 1st, at 8:00
PM in Hertz Hall (on the UC Berkeley campus).  Tickets are $5.00 for
general audiences, less for students and faculty of UC ($2.50?).
Be there!

BTW any of you out there catch our Bartok concert?  I'm really inter-
ested in what other people thought of the Music for Strings, Percussion
and Celesta.  C'mon, *some* of you out there must have been in that
musicology colloquium.

University Symphony		street.  You cannot swerve to miss both
