Information Technology Management The Center for Information Technology & Management ITM EXECUTIVE LECTURE SERIES Invites you to a presentation on Building a corporate multinational network: Experiences from the pre-NII era Featuring Claiborne H. Johnson, Jr. Corporate Vice President, EDS On Wednesday, September 14, 1994, 3-4 PM at 60 Barrows Hall, U.C. Berkeley The proposed National Information Infrastructure (NII) and the "information superhighway" are being widely discussed today as important facilitators for future geographic expansion of businesses. As businesses ramp up to the use of the NII, they would do well to remember and take advantage of the experiences that several corporations have had over the years in building and using digital networks to support geographically dispersed operations. In this talk, Dr. Johnson will summarize his experiences at EDS during the time he was in charge of the division that built and operated EDS*NET - one of the world's largest hybrid public/private digital networks - providing all network services, data, voice and image communications for EDS customers, including General Motors. Dr. Claiborne Johnson, Jr. is Corporate Vice President in charge of Technology Assessment for the Communications Industry Group at Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS). He is joining the Center for Information Technology & Management as its interim Executive Director in Fall 94.
