Are playgrounds the only means of public travel? Public roads ARE the only means of getting from one point on the ground to another and every country has laws allowing travel on such public roads. By your logic Dorn was sugesting that children should have the run of the Governor's office as well. Try to stay on the subject. > While anything public belongs to everyone, everything public > also has designated usage --- for safety, mobility, etc. > > Sidewalks for people --- streets for *Vehicles* which > includes autos --- playgrounds for children and people. Sidewalks are not universal and pedestrians have right-of-way on the road in the absence of sidewalks. Autos may not pass any other vehicle when it is not safe to do so and other vehicles (including bicycles) are not responsible to pull over just because you appear in your Cadillac. You really should study these matters by reading the vehicle code. > > Since the dawn of civilization, streets > > have been the principal public space of any community. Bicycles are lawful vehicles as well and when it isn't safe for motor vehicles to pass they are enjoined by law to stay back. That hasn't seemed to have stopped them from breaking the driving regulations with such regularity that people such as yourself don't even seem to know the law.
