I for one am glad I came to Davis. Yes I gripe at times, but most people do, and I think I'd gripe wherever I was. Davis as a place and as a school has much to offer, but like so many things you have to reach out for it and can't wait for it to come to you. Yes, Davis is a cowtown (a bit of an exageration) but I'm not a big fan of the urban jungle either. Generally I feel that people who aren't happy to begin with aren't happy with Davis. I know several people who constantly pine for their days in the Bay. Well personally I don't like the Bay, and I don't see the attraction. Can Davis get dull, yes, but I've also had a lot of fun here as well. Plus I like Sacramento. I like its feel and the whole culture. I've heard Davis people complain about the lack of culture here. No, the fact is that they made NO effort to seek it out. Does that mean that I recommend Davis to anyone. No. If you come here with Romantic notions of someother place then Davis can never live up to that fantasy and you will be miserable here, and worse you will make the people around you miserable. I like Davis, and I like Sac. And if you come here and start whining about how much it Sucks you'll get no sympathy from me. That said, last one to the Cantina has to dance with Paula. Lets get pezzed. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Tom Hrouda- -finally a 3L * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Isn't it great that old Davis grads like myself can interact via the
internet with law students at the alma mater? When do the other old
grads get here?
I've lived in Davis. Went to undergrad and law school there. Grew up
in Sacramento (suburbs). Lived in Santa Rosa. Lived in Ventura.
I would move to Santa Rosa, Ventura, or Santa Cruz in a minute.
Unfortunately (for low paid losers like me), housing costs too much,
and jobs (the low pay kind I like) are scarce. But Davis is a nice
place, and a great school. Move to one of those desireable places
after you graduate.
After all, it can always get worse. You could end up in Fresno. I did.
Auuuuuuuggggghhhh!
