Hi! I'd like to sell this locally and save the shipping hassle, so
I'll try here first.

I am looking to upgrade, so I'm interested in selling my entire
laptop system. If you're looking for a rugged, portable system
which will handle serious word-processing, terminal work and
other DOS jobs without spending much money, this may be just
right for you. The system includes the following: a laptop
computer, a custom carrying case, a dot-matrix printer, a printer
cable, extra printer ribbons, a serial mouse, and legally
licensed software with manuals including WordPerfect 5.1, Quattro
Pro 4.0, and P.C. Tools 7.1. (While I don't have the original
manuals for WordPerfect, I will include "Mastering WordPerfect
5.1," which I use instead.) If you purchase the system and want
the manuals also, I will be happy to retrieve them from my
roommate for the price of shipping them. If you're interested, I
will also negotiate on including WordPerfect 6.0b for dos, which
works just fine on this system.

You can take the entire package for $750. If you have any
questions, please e-mail me; if you live nearby and would like to
see the system or try it out, I would be happy to oblige. (While
I would prefer to sell these components as a set, I will
certainly consider selling the parts individually.) While I
might consider haggling a bit, I don't want to come down much
because (a) this price is very reasonable and (b) it's probably
worth almost that much to just hang onto it as a spare.

(I will consider a trade/cash deal, especially if you have any of
the following: a good flatbed scanner, a men's bike in good
condition, or a high-quality excercise bicycle.)

The details system follows:

      Zenith 386 TurboSport

LIKE NEW CONDITION (really)
12.5 Mhz Intel 386 DX CMOS processor (not SX)
2 Megabytes RAM (expandable to 3 MB)
42 Megabyte hard drive (25 ms access)
1.44 Megabyte internal floppy drive
Nice 640 X 400 Black-on-white, back-lit, flat-panel LCD display
Double-scan CGA graphics
****Internal 2400 bps, fully Hayes-compatible modem which
connects to ANYTHING.
Battery pack w/ overcharge & short circuit protection
AC adapter/charger
All original manuals and parts included
-Free Bonuses: Custom carry case, MS-DOS 5.0 & 6.2 Upgrades (with
full documentation for all 3 Dos systems)

This has been a great machine. It has a nice detachable
keyboard, so it serves very well as a portable desktop which fits
into tiny spaces. Zenith marketed these as their early 386
laptop systems, and charged corporate clients over $7,000 for
them. I bought mine new for $2,700 in Nov 1990 as a closeout,
and it has needed no repairs whatsover since. While it runs
Windows, but performance is not very good--it is best used as a
very capable DOS machine.

      Star NX-1000 Printer

-9 pin dot-matrix
-color upgradeable
-NLQ capable, 3 extra built-in font styles
-all documentation and original packaging included.
--also included: elevating legs for mounting the printer, and two
printer ribbons.

This is nothing very fancy, but it gets the job done. My wife
has been it's only owner, and it will serve you just fine for
word-processing, etc.

Please give my system a good home! :) It has been good to me.
e-mail for any additional info, or for a phone # so that we can
talk about it further.

Regards,
